Date Available: Beta 10/28/2025, Prod 11/4/2025
Which customers are impacted?: This update impacts Core Mortgage and Home Equity. Any customer using an integration to a LOS that relies on the Application File Available event. This includes most LOS integrations (Empower is a notable exclusion as well as customers using the Encompass Kensie Mae plugin to manage document sync).
Required?: No, opt-in.
How to turn on: This will not be automatically enabled for our customers. It will be available beginning on the dates listed above. If you’d like to take advantage of this functionality, please email support@blend.com.
Purpose of Update and Benefit: Introduced a workflow enhancement that ensures borrower-uploaded documents are only exported to the Loan Origination System (LOS) via BONS events after lender approval. This update provides lenders with greater control and accuracy over which documents are shared with their LOS, improving data quality and reducing the risk of premature or unwanted document transfers.
Current Behavior:
Previously, for customers using a documents integration triggered by the Application File Available event (e.g., Encompass NextGen), borrower-uploaded documents were automatically exported to the LOS immediately upon upload, without requiring lender review or approval.
New Behavior: With this configuration enabled, document export to the LOS is delayed until the lender approves the follow-up in Blend. Although the ability to approve borrower-uploaded documents already existed, it previously did not control document export timing. No UI changes are introduced with this update; the existing “Approve” button continues to be used.
